1966 Abbey 3d (phos). "THREE PHOS BAND ERROR".

Unmounted mint marginal block of six. Each stamp in the block when viewed under UV has 3 distinct phosphor bands. When viewing with naked eye there is just a hint in some places of the additional bands. The normal stamp just having one central band. A possible explanation that has been proposed is that this issue was being printed at the same time as the Burns issue. The Burns issue has three phosphor bands. The sheet used for this printing of the the Abbey issue was "contaminated" with the three bands from the Burns issue, with the excessive phosphor not cleared by the doctor blades. The block also has a noticeable perforation shift.
